We were inspired by the last, most elaborate hat in the book. This is definitely one of those projects where there is no “right or wrong” way to design them. Since I used regular sheets of construction paper, they are a little on the smaller side, so I added string to tie them under our chins. Do you remember making these in elementary school out of newspaper? Personally, I loathe loose glitter, so there is none of that in the house, but if that’s your thing, go glitter-wild! You could also replace that with glitter glue to reduce the “cleaning-glitter-off-my-floors-for-weeks” mess.įor the hat itself, I made a simple folded hat from construction paper. You could also use buttons, ribbon, paint, yarn, fabric, glitter, etc. We pulled together pom poms, feathers, stickers, washi tape, markers, and pipe cleaners. You can really go as simple or as creative as you want with these. To celebrate these fun dog party hats, we decided to make our own silly versions! In our house, these parts of the book even come complete with silly voices, so don’t you dare try to skip it!
